Stericom offers a range of lower GI catheters fitted with air-filled balloons made of various materials for diagnostic procedures such as RAIR and sensation testing, and for patient re-training. These catheters are designed to address the needs of physiotherapists and other practitioners specializing in the diagnosis and therapy of faecal incontinence.
The Ashley2 catheter is suitable for rectal sensation testing, compliance and balloon expulsion training, and for RAIR when combined with sphincter manometry. It has a 400mm PVC tube section fitted with a a thick-walled polyisoprene balloon with an inflation limit of 600ml.
A 3-way tap is fitted to the proximal end of the catheter, to enable easy and controlled inflation/deflation in stages. Download The Ashley Protocols here.
The twin-polyisoprene balloon Langley catheter may be used for RAIR, resting/squeeze pressures and associated tests without resorting to multi-channel manometry. It is custom-designed for easy and effective pressure biofeedback therapy.
This catheter can be used for a number of investigations by physiotherapists and other practitioners specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of lower bowel dysfunction. Download the The Langley Protocols here.
